Symptoms of asthmaMany people suffer from Asthma are mainly children. Asthma is a disease connected with the respiratory system. In a case of an asthma attack, the airways which are known as the bronchioles or bronchi are blocked causing restrictions to breathing. Also the air tubes can swell if mucous is released and cause spasms.

There are many causes of asthma, one of the reason is air pollution. Though steps have been taken to provide cleaner air amongst cities, it is still a major environmental concern.

Some of the effects of a mild asthma attack may include shortness of breath or coughing. This attack occur at various times for example after exercise. Children are especially troubled by this because of the natural energy and overactive.

A moderate attack would result of lack of absorbing the amount of air needed. One would suffer a shortness of breath and start breathing at an increased rate. Fortunately, medications are available to asthma sufferers. These meds are developed to help treat inflammation and airway restriction.

Hypoxemia, or low blood oxygen levels result when one suffers a severe asthma attack and is wheezing and gasping for air. If a person develops a severe asthma attack, a trip to the emergency room may be needed in order to help that person breath. They usually temporarily place him or her on a respirator.

There are mainly two types of Asthma – Extrinsic asthma is caused by outdoor conditions. Intrinsic asthma is caused by allergens inside the person for instance, a person may have an attack when in a room with different forms of pollution or dust.

There are also internal triggers for asthma. A person may have an asthma attack in the heat, from tiredness or stress. For prevention extremely, many asthma patients freely live and move around in places where free of dust, pet dander and mold and also in a non-smoking area to prevent asthma.
